Englands Death in the World Cup
I watched; a number of weeks ago – poor England performances against Mexico and Japan (albeit we won) – and from that moment I knew something was wrong. I think there was some terrible unrest behind the scenes; and some questionable tactics played during the world cup.
Many of the players were played out of position; and many of them didn’t seem the heart to play – maybe it was the high altitude. I don’t know. But its clear that the England Squad needs rethinking – and complete refresh; take on some youth players and start training them for 2 years and have a collective group formed – ready for the 2012 Euros.
It was a sad display against Germany; despite the disallowed goal; and unfortunatley we were beaten quite comprehensively. Actually; the German football was quite beautiful and enjoyable to watch. I doubt I will see an England team win the world cup in my lifetime; but nothing is impossible – the country just needs to change its thinking behind its world cup strategy; and find an approach that brings on more passion at an international life.
I personally would like to see Jurgen Klinsmann take over; yes he’s German – but he is a nice German.

Somehow Nick has got a cell phone and already has spent $20 in minutes :(

EV – Day 19 (Tue) and Day 20 (Wed)
On Tuesday we traveled from Manchester to IAD via Heathrow. The LHR experience this time round was better; however we had a fright when we were taxi’ing at Man. They said the flight would be 50 minutes late; putting our connection time at an intense state. However; they changed their mind and took off after 20 minutes; and he went fast.
We saw some sights over London; The London Eye; Buckingham Palace; The Thames; we even saw Wimbledon Tennis courts; it was very call.
We landed at around 7.30pm – everything was good; until we left the luggage area; disaster; we forgot one of our bags. We went to the service desk; and we finally got out of there around 9.45pm.
We then went to our hotel; and it was very nice; very contemporary – on Wednesday we drove down 480 miles from the hotel to our home; took roughly 8.5 hours; we did well. The kids did well; Jenny did well; she is so sick with bronchitis. We all did well.
It is the end of an EPIC VACATION!
EV – Day 17 (Sun) / 18 (Mon)
We’re winding down now the vacation; and will be travelling on Tuesday and Wednesday back home. I may or may not be able to update the blog on Tuesday; depends on how tired I am from the flight – we are staying in a hotel near the airport in Virginia Tuesday night; and then driving home on Wednesday.
Its been a fantastic vacation; its the longest vacation I’ve personally have since the 3 week epic vacation in the year 2000 – when we went to England the first time since I moved to America. – ha every ten years; cool.
Anyway; Id like to personally thank Mum for doing everything in her power to make our stay wonderful; and of course providing us food and lodging; is amazing – and helped us a great deal. I want to thank Elizabeth for providing us with her car for two weeks; it was great – and congrats again to both her and Jonathan.
Finally id like to apologize to John for blocking his drains constantly; he’ll know what that means
I have over 7 Gigs of photos and videos from the trip; and will be thinking about how to best to deploy that in the coming weeks!
The EPIC VACATION DRAWS TO A CLOSE !

EV – Day Fifteen
On Friday; we went to a very posh garden center – it was very nice; the problem was; the kids were going crazy – so we left that beautiful place; and a few moments later; after being stuck behind two tractors full of hay – we got to Beacon Fell – a large hill that overlooks the Flyde valley – it was awesome.
After that; we went to Lytham Park and then watched England perform very poorly against Algeria – cos England kinda suck :-(
EV – Day Fourteen
Today we took the train to Preston and walked around a bit; Jenny bought some special soap made of rock. We also went to Tesco superstore to get some much needed supplies – not much happened today; just a quiet day and lots of World Cup Football ;-)
