Finally! Better
What a terrible terrible terrible week. Wow; I haven’t been that sick since; well – when I was sick. That was a bad one; and the whole family got it too; although naturally I believe I got the worst of us all. This weekend we are reflecting on the sickness – and looking at the destruction of the home as a result of 5 people who were too sick to care.
On Saturday; the kids started cleaning up (I fainted) – and we chilled for the last weekend before our epic journey to Virginia and England. There are only a few things to get sorted for that trip; and hopefully that will be this week. Nick has a half week at school; so he will be enjoying his final year of 1st grade in style.
But the most important news of this weekend; is the fact that I purchased a ticket to see Tottenham play Sporting Lisbon in New York! That also will be a combo trip to Virginia. We Russell’s believe in killing – two birds with one stone; we are very clever; yes we are.
Pictures from the Docs visit :)
Sick
All the Russells are sick! Sinus Infections; Vomiting; you name it – we’ve got it. So not much to report on except being sick.
I do want to add how proud I am of the girls; yesterday we took them to the doctors for their 4 yr check up. Lauren was calculated to grow to 5″ 3 – and Emily was 5″ 1 when they grow up. They are super healthy; and I took some cute videos and pics that I will upload when in between naps. They took 4 shots in the arm.
The quote of the day was-
Doctor ‘Can you tell me what you would do if there was a fire in the house?’
Lauren ‘Get Marshmallows on a stick’
A closer look..
Quick trip to the Zoo
We enjoyed a quick trip to the zoo; very hot; Emily was obsessed with the tigers this time around; Nick I think enjoyed the Tigers too and Lauren loved the Penguins the most.
My cow I visit ignored me :-(
Dragon
We found this lovely dragon fly on our back porch screen; unfortunatly I screwed up the lighting on the image; but you can see its multi-wing system; and its horrific head – we like dragonflies; especially Emily.
We found a Geocache today up in Blythewood; nice and easy one; – you can see the picture of the kids holding the Geocache in the tweet feed.

Straws
Last night Nick had trouble getting to sleep; so we got up; and he decided to build an extremely long straw cannon – which weaves itself around the living room; and ends in a fantastic ‘over a boot’ fashion; not sure what the boot is for- but the level of engineering detail is uncanny.

Lack of content
There has been a downward swing in content regarding my blog lately; and I apologize for that. Ive been analyzing why this is – and I have a few reasons.
I think primarily it is my obsession with Altitude; the high flying arcade game that I’ve reached Master Level 4 on – and invested 270 hours in game time in. That probably has a lot to do with it..
But also my Palm – I have been using the device as a consumer of information; rather than a contributer; spending less time on my laptop; and more on my Palm. I actually prefer surfing the web; on my Palm – which is weird; youd think using such a small screen would be a pain; but its so portable and easy to surf – I find myself using it more and more.
Of course with the tiny keyboard; its not fun to create content; and I dont know how to upload pictures to the blog from my phone. Although I know its possible; I will see what I can do to rectify this; the kids have hidden our camera somewhere; I need to find that too.
EDIT: Oh and of course Twitter! I post a lot to twitter; which you can see on the right pane of this blog; I think I have come to rely on that too much.
