We had a wonderful thanksgiving full of food and playing games; and singing songs… one of which I filmed a wonderous dance :)

Happy Wheels is a charity that provides poorly kids with toys. Fran and I did a little project to help the charity hopefully boost donations. Its a cute little web site – check out the photos section. That is a WordPress plugin that displays Picasaweb Public Albums with zero interaction for the content creator.

WordPress is a great tool to almost effortlessly publish professional looking web sites with minimal fuss. When the site is complete – it will have its own URL. – Gerald is handling that part :)

At work; a pot lunch was arranged – my contribution? Paper Plates; Paper Cups and Plasticware – I am sure everyone really appreciated that that. There was some great dishes; and then some not so great ones – although most were significantly better than anything I could come up with :)

Today we got the tree out of moth balls and put it all together; the kids were responsible for the ornaments; Jenny did everything else ;-) I provided logistical support; and also did the fireplace area – we all did a very good job. I also took the time today; even though it was the worst weather ever to hit the universe; planted my Palm Tree from Florida – provided to me by my mother. Yes we drove up from FL with this little tree in tow – and although its rated to not go below 50F (which will be a problem soon..) – I have full faith it will somehow survive.

Funnily enough – when I put the bricks around the tree – I moved the bricks from the other Palm I have and discovered a teeny Black Widow – not so great – I eliminated it. Click on the pictures for higher detail.

We treated ourselves to a quick trip to Riverbanks Zoo; and we had a wonderful time. We had an email from a guy in Columbia; interested in Shadow – he came down – he is a single guy with a fence et al – and he really liked Shadow. So he’s gonna try him out. Jenny and I were a little bummed; but we made the right decision – Shadow was unhappy being around youngen’s – the kids? They couldn’t care less !! They said goodbye and got back to their toys..

Maybe we should try a cat next? (we have had a Rabbit; Dog; Frogs and Fish)

We’ve been having some ‘teething’ problems with Shadow – he has been nipping the kids; and so its time to find him a new home; as he is a wonderful dog – and deserves a peaceful home without kidz going mad at him and making him nip. Satuday; we scheduled an elderly women to come pick him up; she answered our ad – this is the 4th person with arranged something with. I took the kids to the park while Shadow could be at peace with the new owner… and she never turned up. So we still have Shadow – FOR NOW !!

Next week is a VERY exciting week; as Star Trek will be available on BluRay – of course I preordered months ago; and it will be arriving on Tuesday (hopefully earlier!) – its a 3 disc set – and I will FORCE THE KIDS TO WATCH IT. In somewhat related news; I have some home made Star Trek movies on youtube – alternate endings to the older films; they are quite funny. I got a copyright warning from Paramount to take them offline – LOL. I am honored my little videos are such a threat to them – and I of course honored their demands request and took them offline
