Happy Birthday! and Painting Completion

without comments

Happy 41st Mum!

We completed painting our new downstairs bedroom – and hung up some curtain rods with what I call ‘Super Screws’. All screws are meaningless – compared with super screws. Basically decking screws – forget about; those things you have to hammer in when you are stud-less – or screws that disintegrate as soon as you pick them up. Super screws drive through basically anything – and with my super power drill – makes short work of any project. Including curtain rods. & although -the curtain rods are not removable – literally you’d have to rip them out; that is the next occupants problem; not mine.

Just the furniture to move down; and then that will be that. Another successful project completion by the Russell Team.

H1N1 Protected and Hair

with one comment

n250IMG_4496 We had a busy day today; We started painting our bedroom – We got our hair cuts; both Nick and I went ultrashort – Nick of course is the best looking of us both.

We went to Home Depot to get some extra paint for our bedroom- and I’m gonna lighten up the tone on our home theater screen – so needed some white paint. Then finally went to the dreaded doctor to get both Influenza & H1N1 (which we were surprised they had) – for the kidz – so they are FULLY PROTECTED. They are on the cusp of vaccination technology ! – They were very brave – the whole family is protected against H1N1 – umm except me and Shadow :-(

I do have the influenza shot though; hopefully they will offer H1N1 at work !!

Nicks wisdom

without comments

snickToday – Nick and Jenny had the following discussion:

Nick “I want to live in Hollywood’
Jenny “OK – that sounds great; you can live anywhere you want you know”
Nick “Really?”
Jenny ” Yeah like England; you could move to England because you are half British”
Nick “No I can’t live there”
Jenny “Why?”
Nick “Because I need to live somewhere they speak the same language”
Jenny “They speak English”
Nick “No; they speak funny; they say r like areee”

..

This evening; out of the blue – Nick with David
Nick “I want to live in England”
David “Wow – OK why do you want to live in England?”
Nick “Because my Nanny lives there”
David “Great – when are you going?”
Nick “When I am 72″

Kids weekend and computing

without comments

We had a great weekend; we did some cleaning around the house – did some shopping and ate out at Nicks favorite restaurant Red Robin! (see pics). We also went to the downtown library – which is an amazing library.

There I got a book on Applescript – which is neat little scripting language for Mac OS X. I built a program that takes any folder (you drag and drop it on the program) and then it converts it into a bundled iso image automatically ready for burning onto a CD. Its amaaaaziiinnnggg..

Web 2.0 Form Creation !

without comments

I’ve been working on a really hard project at work. I’ve finally finished phase one of it; the next phases should be easier because I’ve already done the hard stuff in this one. We’ve thrown a lot into it. Its graphically pleasing; and has a number of other features:

* Scriptaculous Moving/Fade FX
* Prototype Mathematics
* A billion and one comparison operators
* Dedicate Print Style sheet with flip capability…
* Its really cool

Its been a long journey; but Im proud.
