1 Month

without comments

Its amazing – but the Russell’s have lived in Columbia, SC for 1 Month now. I am at 3 weeks, because I stayed behind in VA to finish up my final week at my previous job. So Jenny and kids hit the 1 month mark. Its been an amazing journey, its been difficult – adjusting to our new lives – but it is worth it. I am very happy working away at my new job, I am quite content – actually I am liking it a great deal. And the Columbia area is so great, lots for the kids to do, and of course the weather has been really nice, apart from the odd bad day or two :) (It is winter!)

The kids are adjusting well too. The whole experience has been very positive, and we can’t wait to enjoy the spring time in our new home :)

Pizza

without comments

Tonight we ate with our new friends the Ferrante’s – at Cici’s Pizza – (whom I happen to work with :)) – we all enjoyed out pizza but then the boys ran off to play video games, and of course the girls followed closely. As you can see, Lauren is mad into racing – and so are the rest of them! We had a great time.

The Power of Three

without comments

Jenny purchased 3 laundry baskets for a new rotational laundry system. & I have to say its working VERY well. I wasn’t so sure at first, I mean, the kids like to jump in them, but the system actually works. One is for whites, one is for towels, and the last one for everything else. It must seem like I have nothing to talk about – but I thought it was interesting enough to post.

Of much more importance is the eagerly anticipated arrival of Nanny Russell from Ye’Olde England. She’ll be flying direct to Atlanta, and all of use are going to pick her up. Its about 3 hours from us, but we chose the airport because Mum could fly direct in. I think it will be worth it. Our family will be staying in Atlanta that weekend before her arrival, so we can check it out. I’ve only been via airport, but from what I saw, I was impressed. I also enjoyed Atlanta airport as a whole. We are VERY excited about her arrival.

Grammy Visit

without comments

Grammy is visiting us for a couple of days, Jenny and I ‘might’ be able to go watch a movie. I’d love to see Cloverfield again, but its probably out of the theaters by now!

The weather has been great, had an interesting light show thunderstorm last night, which was kinda scary (I was the only one who seemed to be scared)..

On a administrative note.. WE PURCHASED A PS3 !!! YAYYYYYYYYYY

Parks n’more

without comments

We had an interesting day today, we finished building a dining room table suite (which Jenny has been after for a long time) I held out as long as I could. We went to a local park, and I was injured! – I had to leap off of the playset, made an impact crater (see pics), my knee buckled under the force and I scrambled up like a whale with legs, to save Laurens slide of doom. It was kind of embarrassing – two local women just looked at me at said ‘yeah right’ under their breath (seriously). But I had to do it, my daughter wanted to go down the mega slide, and I had to make the leap to help her out.

Highlights:
* Twins hair during slide run
* Nicholas hounding the poor stranger (he’s not shy…)
