Funny Nick

without comments

While going to the doc office today, Jenny, Nicholas and myself were driving down the interstate – and Nicholas decided to proclaim,
“I would like you to drop me off over there”
This while traveling 70mph along I-295, we asked
“Why do you want to be dropped off?”
“I would like to be dropped off over there”
Puzzled we continued questioning, “Where will you go?”
Nicholas paused and sat motionless for about 30 seconds.
“Toys R US”
We laughed and asked how he was going to get there
“I am going to walk”
Needless to say, we did not drop him off, and he made do with CVS for a $3 transformer plane/left foot.

Agonizing April

without comments

The last few weeks have not been fun for the Russell Family, apart of course from the visit of my mother. Firstly Jenny had to get emergency treatment with a problem in her digestive system. She is on the mend, but one week ago tomorrow we have been struck by a viral infection which has caused chaos. Emily was the first to be struck, the usual things – throwing up, diarrhea, and fatigue. But not for 24 hours, for 5 DAYS. Thankfully Emily is through it, I feel like I am on my last day, Nicholas has been down since Friday but is showing some signs of recovery. Lauren though has been struck hard. The poor wiltering flower has thrown up many, many times and we all feel for her. All this and Jenny who is still recovering from her surgery has done her best to keep us all living. I look forward to May, as we will all be better and enjoy a peaceful, non eventful month.

Sickness

without comments

I had to take off today due to the stomach flu, but it didn’t last 24 hours, it was from 6AM to 3PM, I feel so much better. The twins had it about 2-3 days, but are over it now. Jenny and Nick next? Probably not Jenny cos shes already gone through enough sickness these past two weeks. Jenny is at a 75% operational level.

Back to work :(

without comments

Back to work today, had a tough day, 9 voicemails + 167 emails – normally I check my email while I am away, but its just been too hectic. Jenny is at about 70% full capacity, and can now be left alone with the kids – although she can’t lift Nick into the Pilot quite yet.

Weather has been great, Nicholas and I have been taking bike rides and planting trees, pictures to come soon.

Mum is going home

without comments

We had a busy day today, after visiting the doctors office to get Jennys staples removed from her surgery in Richmond. We jetted up to DCA and made sure Mum got to her designated gate. We will miss her a great deal, she was a life saver while Jenny was in the hospital. It was quite a trip for her, but the kids especially loved her company. We’ll be seeing Nanny in September.

When we got home we watered the plants and I took Nicholas for a ride in our new ‘carriage’ which I will take a picture of soon. Emily seems to be a lot better after a little bug had got her this morning causing her to spit-up a few times. Lauren was in a crazy mood today singing and dancing, she just got over a little sniffle too and I think she was just really happy to be over it.

Shopping

without comments

Yesterday was a shopping day and Mum spent a few hours in the mall, we went to a few stores and bought some peripherals for Jennys Macintosh. Today we are going to Lowes to get a few garden tools to do some backyard work. Today is Mums final day here in VA until September so I believe she is preparing a special Italian meal for tonight and will be returning home. I’ll be returning to work on Tuesday although Jenny will not be alone next week for any amount of time. We are enjoying beautiful weather at the moment!
