Happy Halloween

without comments

We have some wonderful Halloween testing last night for the costumes. They look really cute. I’ll take more tonight, and see what kind of candy we can locate. The twins are Heffalumps. Lauren can’t stand it, so I do not yet have a picture of her, and Emily tolerated it. Nicholas is Thomas the tank engine but its way to big for him. We’ll see how we can get it to fit better this evening. Pictures coming soon.

Weekend Disaster

without comments

We had an interesting weekend. Jenny had to take Emily into the doctors on Saturday, and it ended up taking 5 hours, we had to get a nebulizer and drugs to help her breath better. A very nasty bronchial attack, stemming from the colds they all got last week. Nicholas has got it, but not as bad as Emily. Lauren got it very bad yesterday and we considered a trip to the ER – however the Triage nurse advised against it. We eventually found out that most of her discomfort was from some cheese and broccoli soup that we fed her at lunch time, major gas pains – so that has been taken off the menu. (No bananas for Emily). So with 8 hours of sleep over the past 48 hours, we have got through a very difficult period of time. Nicholas got worse on Sunday too, he hates medicine, so we tried varied tactical salvos via poisoned ‘medicine apple juice’ – which eventually Nicholas scoffed, tracked and discovered our brief tactical advantage. Next was forced entry but more medicine made it on to the carpet than in his blood stream. I managed to finally spread Vicks over his binky while asleep. I was very proud of this moment of inspiration and he finally had a good nights sleep. All are significantly better today, and the worst is over. I am like a zombie at work however, and I can’t imagine how Jenny is coping :)

On another note, I dragged our sickly family to Toys R Us Sunday morning to try and preorder a Nintendo Wii, however this was fruitless as the line wrapped around the building waiting for a measly 9 units. We did buy some toys for sick kids though, and we got a Bird House kit that Nicholas and I built during the evening (I loved doing this with him).

Picture is of Toys R Us, and all kids waiting patiently in vehicle for Mom to exit with Gordon (Thomas Tank Engine) Freight Cars which I had forgotten to look for.

Creative

without comments

Nicholas was very creative this morning, he created this Binky Express. Soon we will have to deal with the Binky addiction, but obviously not today :)

without comments

I’ve finally uploaded the Disney October 2006 pics here. I didn’t know Adobe PhotoShop had a built in engine that made this web page for me, pretty cool.

Lotusphere 2007

without comments

I learned yesterday that my company is sending me to Lotusphere next January. This is the annual IBM Lotus conference hosted on the Disney World campus. This is very exciting news for me, it will be my 4th visit. My last visit (Jan 2005) I actually spoke at the event and was the best one yet. 2007 should be even more exciting, because Lotus will be showing off their new Notes client (Lotus Notes 8/Hannover) and I can’t wait. Many thanks to my company for sending me once more.

Back to School

without comments

Nicholas went back to school today, he was soooo excited. I took him to school, and he was playing a game with me, he pretended the car was a choo-choo. At every red light or ‘stop’ he would do a whistle and we would roll on. As we left the car he said, ‘Bye Bye Daddys Choo-Choo Car’. Aint he a darlin’
