Nicks Pre-School Orientation

without comments

Nicholas had a great time during orientation, so much so that he didn’t want to leave! He responded to a teachers question, “Whats your name?”, and he said, “My Name is Nick-us”. He also got bumped on the head by a classmate (he smashed a plastic box on Nicholas’s head) – I restrained myself, and Nicholas tapped him on the back, “That is Bad”. He also correctly identified his name tag on the black board (which was green). Somewhere in between watching Thomas the Tank Engine and playing choo-choos he has been taking reading and writing classes. I took a cute 1 minute video of the event, and as soon as its posted on Google Video I will put up a link!

Crawling

without comments

I haven’t been too well, hence the lack of posts, but here I am almost back to normal.

Emily is ALMOST crawling. She DOES crawl now, but it looks much more like a crawling zombie creature. All limbs stiff, and her left arm dragging her body across the body. Tis pretty cool. But she is practicing a full mode crawl, and will be ready to launch in a few days (I predict).

Lauren is quite calm lately, she too is experimenting with her favored crawl action, although not able to move yet.

Nicholas has his pre-school orientation tomorrow, and we will be there. I hope to take some pictures if Jenny lets me take the camera.

On another note. I came back from Super Target this evening, and backed into the Garage. I had not pulled back enough into the garage, and the garage door banged into the front bumper. So Im pressing the remote button trying to stop it, but all I was doing was banging the garage door back into the bumper. This happened about 5 times, before I realized that if I backed further into the garage, the garage door would not hit my vehicle. All this time, Jenny and Nicholas were watching me from the doorway, rolling in agony through laughter. It was kind of like a Monty Python sketch. (P.S. car took no damage)

Denver Mad Dash

without comments

I had my business meeting on a Tuesday, and my flight left the next day at 1.19pm. So I got up at 6am Thursday and did a 5 hour mad dash across Colorado like a mad man. It was worth it though. Video coming soon, but here are the photos.

1 year Anniversary

without comments

1 year ago today, this blog was born. It has been an amazing year for the Russell Family. It grew by 2 – introducing Lauren and Emily. We both got new cars, and we also got a new home.

We found a new home for our wonderful dog, Domino, who I miss dearly. But thankfully it is a wonderful home with older children that he could play all day with. In retrospect, it was a good decision finding him a new home, with
the challenges having a set of twins brought forth.

A day after my blog was introduced, we found out we were having twins. And it was a wonderful occasion. We are also very proud of Nicholas, and how he has grown up to a beautiful and intelligent young boy.

Here is to next year!

David Russell – ‘The Dad’ – Born 76′ – I.S. Analyst for Mary Washington
Hospital. Proud parent of many children.
Jennifer Russell – ‘The Mom’ – Born 69′ – Work @ Home Mother. Proud parent
of many children.
Nicholas Russell - ‘The Son’ – Born 03′ – Work: 90% play, 10% sleep. Proud
Child of Russell Parents.
Emily and Lauren – Born 05′ . Proud Children of the Russell Parents and
Proud Sibling of The Son.

Denver

without comments

Tomorrow I am off to Denver for a couple of days for work duties. Going to some Lotus Labs and to see Ed Brill talk. I will miss my family during these few days :( Thankfully a good family friend is staying with my family to keep Jenny company.
